Home Schooling
Some parents may decide to educate children
at home, as a temporary or even full time
strategy. Sometimes, children will need time
out of school to catch up, in preparation
for an entrance exam, for which they have
not been adequately prepared at their
existing school (which might have been
abroad) or because they have missed school
for other reasons. Some families may be
travelling with their children or living out
of range of appropriate schooling.
We supply tutors, who are either highly
experienced or have professional teacher
training, to devise and deliver full time
home school programmes. They often work with
two or more siblings. Within the home, they
create a school environment, which offers
wonderful opportunities for experiential and
holistic learning and for children to master
the basics in literacy and maths. The tutor
will provide a full timetable of classes and
extra curricular activity, often involving
other children
We find that a period of home schooling (for
perhaps six months to a year) can be an
excellent way of demonstrating to children
that learning is a life long process that
can be just as dynamic and fulfilling
outside the class room as within the
strictures of a school environment. The
individually tailored focus of private
tuition means that children tend to make
faster progress than they do at school.
