Chorister(1990/1991) Eton college
(1991/1996) Music scholar (A-levels: French,
German, Maths, Italian) King's college
London modern languages combined honours
degree in French and German (1996-2000) 3rd
year out in Munich teaching English in
grammar school and adult education college
Guildhall school of music and drama
(2000-2002) masters in music in performance
(singing) Royal academy of music (2002-2005)
Posgraduate diploma in singing. (This
basically means I've been training to be an
opera singer since 2000)
I teach mainly Common entrance level. My
first aim is to connect with the pupil by
taking an interest in their future school
and hobbies. I can then deal with them on a
relatively adult basis, rather like a bigger
brother. I have found that this seems to get
better results in gaining their confidence
and ensuring that they can open up to me and
convey their weaknesses in the subject. I
also constantly ensure that each individual
point has been thoroughly understood by
having lots of examples, the first two of
which will be done together and then solely
by the pupil after that.
